Carmine Dellacava is the owner and President of Cava Construction. The development of Cava Construction is the point from which Carmine really began to live his dream. Carmine ran Cava alone for five years and focused on both subcontracting and residential work. After five years of working alone, Carmine met Peter Serpico and they became partners in Cava Construction. Their breakthrough as a company came after meeting the Friedman’s who owned the company Friedman Associates. Bob, Bernie, and most of all their father, Irving, mentored Carmine and Peter in building high rises and developments in New York City. It was because of the association with the Friedman family that, Cava went from building residential homes to large high rises and developments.

Born into a family of general contractors, architects and engineers Mr. Serpico brings over twenty years of commercial construction experience to the Cava table. Mr. Serpio has successfully handled acquisition and development of over 3500 residential units throughout the five boroughs. Educated at New York University in Business Administration, Construction Management and Construction Law, Mr. Serpico’s role at Cava Construction is to oversee all field related matters as well as negotiate contracts.

Mr. Moore has an extensive construction background with over twenty-five years of experience. A carpenter by trade, his hands-on experience provides him with unique knowledge of the entire construction process. Joining Cava Construction almost a decade ago, Mr. Moore brings a wealth of New York City experience to the team. Mr. Moore is highly regarded among the New York construction industry and well trained in the supervision of all phases of a construction project.

A seasoned, innovative and pro-active manager with thirty-years experience in Construction Management, Mr. Marshall is recognized as a hands-on troubleshooter who can rapidly identify problems and formulate strategies for successful resolution. He also has a skill in strategically controling risks through documentation, specific contract requirements, insurance standards and detailed field procedures. Effective in building cooperative relationships with architects, contractors and end-users, Mr Marshall uses a management style that, while academic in nature, is driven by productivity and accountability.

The superb knowledge and skills built on twenty-five years of construction accounting experience are what Mrs. Shaw brings to the Cava team. Mrs. Shaw has been with Cava Construction from its early years, and has been a major asset to the development of the company’s professional services. With a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a minor in Accounting, Mrs. Shaw also holds a title of Notary Public.

Mr. Caliendo’s brings seventeen-years of experience as a Facilities and Property Manager to the Cava Construction team. Mr. Caliendo served under Mayor Guiliani and Mayor Bloomberg as a Commissioner on the New York City Board of Standards and Appeals. It was here that he acquired his expertise and thorough knowledge of the New York City Zoning Resolution, NYC Building Code, Multiple Dwelling Law, NEC, and NFPA. Mr. Caliendo is Cava Construction’s representative for governmental matters and procedures.

Mr. Tysaluk is a resident of New York City and has been in the construction industry for over thirty-years. He joined Cava Construction in 1998 and has brought innovation, client cost sensitivity and excellent leadership skills to the team.
